Pudding Matts:

There has been a lot of discussion on "tugboatnews" about puddings. That's the big rope fenders you see on working tugs in and around major shipping harbours. The following group of pictures will show you tugs with puddings and also an insight into the making of these pudding matts. It was a common sight in the days of steam. It could be a lost art in the future with the invention of the rubber material they use today.
