Tug School:

Most of the classtime was spent at the caissons in Stockton Harbor which used to serve as a dock for a local chemical company but now are maintained simply to keep the foothold in case they're ever wanted again. MMA does a little maintenance on them, and uses them for docking practice as they did yesterday. It was breezing in from astern and there was a strong head-current for most of the practice, giving one student after the other the opportunity to figure out how to work the unit into place. A touch was considered a successful docking - that would have been long enough to get a line up.
