Owen Sound Bound
We are on our way to the Owen Sound Tugfest, Russel Tug home coming event July 28th & 29th. I am taking my 1964 Goodreau Steel Cruiser, The Ora M, to this event. If you are interested in the history of Owen Sound and Russel Tugs, go to our Links and pull up Steel Craft Russel Tugs by Steve Briggs. After you see this site I am sure you will want to come to the event. This event is a one time event to commemorate 150 years of Owen Sound and the history of boat building. We should be back Aug 3rd or 4th I will be taking lots of pictures to post to this site.
When I return, our own 5th annual Parry Sound Tugfest (Aug 24th 25th) will take priority, we hope to see you here.
Thanks for your interest.

Cambrian
Tug Cambrian will be attending the Owen Sound tugfest event. She is 60ft long and was built in Port Dover in 1943 by Gamble Shipyards. Capt Jack Kennedy bought her in 1984. After some renovations he made her into a pleasure craft keeping her original lines. She is based in Parry Sound Harbour, and is a fun ship to be on. Look for her at the tug tours in Owen Sound July 28th & 29th.

Heading for owen Sound
Well The (Great Tug Race) Sault Ste Marie is over for another year. Thanks to Julie Gardiner and crew, it was successful and a good time was had by all. Do to other committments this year I was not able to attend. Next year our Parry Sound group is planning to attend with as many tugs as we can muster.
Now for the next event. The Owen Sound Tugfest July 28th & 29th. This event is a one time event to commemorate 150 years of Owen Sound boat building and will feature Russell tugs. Steve Briggs has done a great job of putting this together and has also done a lot of research into Steel Craft Russell Bro tugs. This will also be a homecoming event.
Check out Steve Brigg's site (Steel Craft Russell Bros Tugs on our Links). All the weekend events our on this site.
These pictures are of some of the tugs that will be at this event from the Parry Sound Area.
