Best Dressed Award:

Mink Isle, won the "Best Dressed" Award at the 2006 tugfest. Capt Bob Parr decked her out with signal flags. What caught the judges eye was the Parry Sound flag on the stern. These two action shots where taken as Capt Bob was putting her to the test in the high power event.

Most Inpressive Tug:

Tug Prescontont was another crowd pleaser at Tugfest 2006. They were lined up to go on board for a tour of this fine vessel. The judges gave her the "most impressive tug" award.   Capt Paul Gaynor and crew have been at this project for over 12 years.  If you saw the video and what they started with, you would appreciate just what went into putting her in the condition she is today.  We were so pleased that Capt Paul could bring the Prescontont to Tugfest 2006 and we are looking forward to seeing her again in 2007.

Still Watch:

More pictures of the Still Watch at the races. She was very impressive, running with the Prescontont in the demonstration event. As you can see Capt Tom has the pedal to the metal.

Still Watch:

It was a pleasure to meet Tom Marshal, his family & crew on the Still Watch. Tom & his crew have done an excellent job putting Still Watch back in running order. This project has been an act of love from the beginning, and Capt Tom has the devotion of his family and crew. It was overwhelming the amount of work that Tom and his crew have done in the engine room alone. The publc were lined up to see her during the tug tours.  We thank Tom and his crew for giving the public an opportunity to see this fine vessel. Here is a picture of the Still Watch. The second picture is from the bow of the Still Watch in the light parade.

Brutus

Meet Brutus, this liittle guy is lowered from the bow of the Still Watch. It was built for the Capt's Son, Justin.  Every boys dream is to have his own tugboat. Built to go, she's 10 feet and displaces more water than you would imagine.

The High Power Event

The High power event was just as exciting, with Capt Dave Matthews bringing Frisky in for the win. The Mink Isle gave her a good run, but came in with a respectable secound. Frisky's home port is Port Dover, and we thank Capt Dave for bringing her all this way for this event.

Hobby Class:

"Drumlin" ran in our hobby class event. She had no contenders, but did a demonstration run with the mini tug "Timmy".  Capt Albert Kee and crew put on a good show.  "Drumlin" is a homebuilt J.R. Benford design that took 13 years to complete.  Capt Albert did an execellent job on this project. We hope to expand on this class for next year. Thanks "Drumlin" for helping to make Tugfest 2006 a success.
