Twin Engine Class
The Chippewa III , and the CCGV Cove Isle running the twin engine event. The Chippewa III won the event with a wedding party on board. This was at the request of the wedding party that she entered the race. The wedding guest will always remember this event.

CaptainsTugfest 2005:

Parade of Lights Tugfest 2006:
Parade of Lights Tugfest 2006: The Parade of Lights will take place on Friday the 25th starting at 9.30 from the town dock. You can watch it from several vantage points along the route, or from the town dock where they will start and finish from. Come and see this spectacular event, you will not be disappointed.

Another Load Of Salt:
Cuyahoga outbound from Parry Sound Harbour after unloading another load of salt. This is the fourth trip to Parry Sound Dock for the Cuyahoga this season, it's always a pleasure to see her.

Low Power Race:
The Low Power event in the 2005 tugfest was a real nail bitter. Here you can see the Cambrian, Patches, White Bear, with Lady Marion in the lead. White Bear won the heat and took the trophy, The 2006 tugfest low power event should be just as exciting, come down and see us Aug 25th & 26th.

Regan:
The Regan was built in Owen Sound by Russel Bros in 1942, for the Abitibi Pulp and Paper Co. She saw service in Lake Superior for several years, then moved to Iroquios Falls. She was sold to the Eddy Match Co in Ottawa and was busy towing log booms on the Ottawa River. Howard Avery purchased her in 1986 and began a complete refit. The pilot house is furnished in oak and brass, other features include a dishwasher, washer dryer and a corner fire place in the main salon. Her length 49ft, beam 14ft, draft 5ft, with a 250 hp diesel engine. Home Port Sault Ste Marie Ont. Capt Jeff Avery ran her in the 2005 tugfest high power event and put on a good show. Looking forward to seeing the Regan in 2006.

Avery Bay:
Built in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin for the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1943. She saw service in New Orleans until 1952 & Chicago until 1978. Dan Avery picked her up at Benton Harbour, Michigan in July 2004. She has gone through major renovations including the addition of a 475 hp engine. New home port "Point aux Pins" On, Can. The Avery Bay is always a welcome sight at our event.

Tug Renegade:
Capt Bob & Sandy White, will be arriving somtime in June from San Diego. They wintered their 40ft Lord Nelson Victory Tug in Penatange. Their plan is cruise up the north channel to Mackinaw, and return to Parry Sound for our 2006 Tugfest event on the 25th & 26th of August. We are looking forward to seeing them again and wish them smooth sailing on there trip.

Scottish Thistle:
Tug Scottish Thistle at the 2005 Tugfest Sail Past. Capt Bill Polnick sailed her down from Sault St Marie for the event. Bill and first mate Dolly put on a good show. You can see them at the the Great Tug Race on July 1st in Sault St Marie Ont. Home Port Sult St. Marie Ont Year built 1944 200 hp

Mink Isle:
The Mink Isle showing her stuff at the 2005 Tugfest. Built by Russel Bros in Owen Sound 1947. Capt Bob Parr has done extensive renovations on her over the years including a new Caterpillar 300hp diesel. She is always in the front row at the races. Come down and visit with Capt Bob at the town dock, Aug 25th 26th, you will not be disappointed.
