New Entry;
New Entry; Tug Timmy, 18ft in length with diesel power. Capt John Harlow will run her in the low power event at tugfest 2006. We will keep her HP a secret at this time, the competition will just have to wait until race day. The rumour is she runs on jet fuel, so much for rumours. We welcome Capt John and his tug Timmy to tugfest I think it will be a crowd pleasure.

Power To Spare
it 's always a pleasure to watch the Pankhurst M do her stuff. Here she is in the high power heat 2005 tugfest. Capt Norm Menary likes to show her off with pride. I am sure that Norm has some new tricks in the engine room for this years event. Home Port Owen Sound Ont, Can.

Brigis Newfoundland:
This is Heather Meadus, she has give us some great shots of her trip to the Rock. We have enjoyed the pictures and are looking forward to her next trip. That big black thing on her left is not her husband, but it is one of the famous Newfoundland Dogs that we often read about. We at Tugfest are pleased to have had the opportunity to show you Heathers vacation pictures, and from time to time we will post some more as they come in. Thanks again Heather great job.

ADDITION TO THE FLEET:
New addition to the fleet built by Retired Navy man George Only of Callander. It is a 1 to 96 scale (24 inches long) and sure is a beauty. Capt Jack was Skipper of the Henry from 1958 until 1963, at that time he went on to be Superintendent of Lights on the Great Lakes. This was a gift from George and a fitting tribute to Capt Jack.

Tugboat taking a tour
The tugboat Urger, once part of New York's canal fleet, will be traveling through the Erie Canal in May. The Urger, built in 1901 and used as a commercial shipping vessel, was stationed in Waterford for more than 60 years hauling machinery, dredges and scows on the Erie and Champlain canals. The boat was decommissioned in the 1980s and placed on the state and national registers of historic places. Photo credit goes to James Goolsby / Times Union.
