Tugboat sinks in Elliott Bay

Recovery workers watch helplessly as the tugboat Patricia S lists mightily and is nearly pulled to the bottom of Elliott Bay by the sinking tugboat Island Brave. The Patricia S was moored to the dock, and the Island Brave was tied to the other tug. The Island Brave's mast is just visible by the splash of water at right. (January 22, 2006)

Mini Tug:

This little guy might not have 1000 hp but there is always a need for this size of vessel in the rivers and channels. This photo was taken by Rob Bellinger on Mystic River under the Route 99 drawbridge in Boston.

Bad day at the office?

Tug Titan sank off Miami. She fell to human error. The line was suppose to be pan in, underwater pics shows pan out. Engine room doors where open. They had been told over and over to keep them shut. This is the second time she went down and second time with engine room doors open. Jan of 2004. Last time. Artical from tugboats@yahoogroups.com.

Tugs Mink Isle & Cambrain in the inner harbour of Parry Sound Ont. They will be ice bound until the middle of March, or when ever the ice releases it's grip. The Mink Isle will return to her home port at Snug Harbour and the Cambrian will go back to her slip at the government dock in Parry Sound.

Boys and Their Toys:

What a great way to pass the winter blues. You can practise your docking skills or even see how fast you can go. These models were built with passion and sure look good. This get together was at the St. Louis Admirals Regatta in Sept 2005.

Queen Mary:

A bit of history, a shot of the Qeen Mary being assisted to the pier in Manhattan. No information on what year this was taken. It looks like she needs a little touch up around the bow. Currently she in a floating hotel museum in Long Beach Cal. Nice to see a bit of the past with shots like this. Photo from Bob Mattsson.
