Capt Jack’s Model

I finished the model of the Buoy tender “St. Heliers”… this was my 1st job as deck hand in 1950 and spent 6 yrs on her… I left as Bosun at the age of 21 in 1956 and went 2nd mate on the Great Lakes Colonial steam ship ” Batin” in ‘57. Came back on the “St. Heliers” in ‘58 as 2nd mate and then she was sold in ‘58 and we all transfered to the new coast guard ship “Alexander Henry” at that time. Great fun building it and it brought back lots of good memories while doing it. Capt Jack Kennedy
